A liquid hydrocarbon having anesthetic properties. See Anesthetic. A. -chloral, CCI3 . CH . OH . O . C. (CH 3 ) 2 C 2 H 5 , dimethyl- ethyl-carbinol-chloral. It is hypnotic. Syn., Dormiol. A. Hydrate, C 5 H 12 0, a tertiary alcohol used as a hypnotic. Dose 30 min.- dr. (2-4 Cc). Unof.
