Cormack-Lehane classification system

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellnesspedia

The Cormack-Lehane classification system grades the visibility of the voice cords during laryngoscopy, a process used to see the larynx. Visibility is classified into four grades based on how much of the voice chords are seen throughout the process. Visibility of grade 1 is the best and visibility of grade 4 is the poorest, with grade 4 related with an increased risk of difficult intubation. This classification system can aid in the selection of appropriate airway control strategies during larynx-related surgeries.
