- Flat Rock is a village in Henderson County, North Carolina, United States. The village is home to several notable attractions such as the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site and the Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theatre of North Carolina.

- Flat Rock began as a summer retreat for wealthy Charlestonians who bought property in the area and built large summer homes in the early 19th century. The village was incorporated in 1995.

- Flat Rock is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. It is approximately 22 miles south of Asheville, North Carolina, and is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area.
