Flavored olive oil is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of keto dishes. It's easy to make and can be customized with your favorite herbs and spices.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 sprig of rosemary
- 1 sprig of thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon of black peppercorns
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Sterilize a glass bottle by boiling it in water for 10 minutes. Allow it to cool.
- Peel the garlic cloves and lightly crush them with the flat side of a knife.
- Place the garlic, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf, and peppercorns in the bottle.
- Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a temperature of 180°F (82°C). Do not let it boil.
- Pour the hot oil into the bottle, making sure all the ingredients are submerged.
- Seal the bottle and let it sit at room temperature for 1-2 weeks to allow the flavors to infuse.
- After the oil is infused, strain it through a fine mesh sieve and store it in a clean, sterilized bottle.
