Halloumiburger with Rutabaga Fries[edit | edit source]
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- 2 Rutabagas
- 4 slices of Halloumi cheese
- 1 lb of Ground beef
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Tomato
- Lettuce
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel the rutabagas and cut them into fries. Place them on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- While the rutabaga fries are baking, form the ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a grill pan over medium heat. Grill the halloumi slices until golden brown on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Set aside.
- In the same pan, grill the beef patties to your desired level of doneness.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on a lettuce leaf, topping it with a slice of halloumi, a slice of tomato, and a few slices of avocado. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
- Serve the halloumiburgers with the rutabaga fries on the side.
