- Mount Olive is a small town located in the southern part of Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. It is best known for its annual North Carolina Pickle Festival and as the home of the University of Mount Olive. The town is a part of the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area.

- Mount Olive is located at 35°11′35″N 78°4′8″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.7 square miles (7.0 km²), all of it land.

- As of the census of 2000, there were 4,567 people, 1,770 households, and 1,176 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,682.2 people per square mile (649.5/km²).
