It is part of the Piedmont Triad region, which consists of three major cities: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point. Randleman is known for its rich history, charming downtown area, and the NASCAR legend Richard Petty.

- Randleman was established in the 18th century and was originally known as Union Factory. It was renamed Randleman in 1880, in honor of John B. Randleman, a prominent mill owner. The city played a significant role in the textile industry during the 19th and 20th centuries.
