Raw food

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Raw food is food that is consumed in its natural, uncooked state. This type of diet typically includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and sprouted grains. Raw food is believed to retain more of its natural enzymes and nutrients, as cooking can cause the loss of some of these beneficial components. The raw food diet can be considered a healthy way of eating, but it should be approached with caution, as some raw foods can carry harmful bacteria and parasites.
