Role

The functions a user can perform in a system are based on the role assigned to his or her account.

Examples: In the eRA Commons system a person with the Signing Official (SO) role can electronically sign and submit applications, progress reports and other official grant documents to the agency on behalf of their organization.In the Grants.gov system a person with the Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) role can submit grant applications for their organization.
