Alois Kracher (December 30, 1960 – December 5, 2007) was an Austrian winemaker known for his exceptional sweet wines. He was born in Burgenland, Austria, and passed away in Illmitz, Austria.

Career[edit | edit source]

Kracher took over his family's winery in 1986 and dedicated himself to producing high-quality sweet wines. He focused on the production of Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA), a type of sweet wine made from individually selected, overripe grapes affected by noble rot. Kracher's dedication and expertise in producing TBA wines quickly gained him recognition in the wine industry.

Kracher's wines were highly sought after and received numerous awards and accolades. His commitment to quality and innovation led him to experiment with different grape varieties and winemaking techniques, resulting in a diverse range of sweet wines that showcased the unique terroir of Burgenland.

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Following Alois Kracher's untimely death in 2007, his winery continued under the leadership of his son, Gerhard Kracher. Gerhard has successfully carried on his father's legacy, maintaining the high standards and commitment to quality that made Alois Kracher wines renowned worldwide.
