Christie Hefner is an American businesswoman who served as the Chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises from 1988 to 2008. She was born on November 8, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine, and Mildred Williams.

Hefner attended the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in English and American literature. She later earned a Master's degree in comparative literature from the University of Chicago.

In 1982, Hefner joined Playboy Enterprises and held various positions before becoming Chairman and CEO in 1988. During her tenure, she focused on expanding the company's brand globally and diversifying its business interests beyond adult entertainment.

Under Hefner's leadership, Playboy launched several successful ventures, including the Playboy Channel and the Playboy Jazz Festival. She also played a key role in advocating for free speech and civil liberties.

In 2008, Hefner stepped down as CEO but remained on the board of directors until 2016. She has been involved in various philanthropic activities, supporting causes such as women's rights and education.
