A unique historical image of how the "lice feeding" actually took place. The image is probably PD (anonymous author in 1940's Poland) but uploading it under fair use just in case.

I guess someone could get some typhus carrying lice, reconstruct the cages, slap'em on their leg, go for it, and take a photo. But in absence of that this is an iconic historical image of how lice were fed during WWII in Rudolf Weigl's institute.
