This is a category listing heads of state who were assassinated. Does not include other politicians who were assassinated such as prime ministers, better categorized as heads of government or other relevant category. Categories related to monarchs in general should be considered as head of state even though some monarchs may not have exercised such power, for example, by being an infant. But the office itself has been considered to be head of state.
