The description on its file description page there is shown below.
The image was copied from the Adelle Davis Foundation website, http://adelledavis.org/photo.htm. Adelle Davis died in 1974, and may be survived by her two adopted children, though I can find no information on the web to help me find them, if they are still living. Therefore, no copyright information is available to me. I am uploading this image and tagging it as "fairusein|Adelle Davis"
UPDATE: In early 2007 I spoke with Eloise Diller at the Adelle Davis Foundation. She owns the copyright to Davis's books and this picture, and graciously consented to place it in the public domain for the purpose of this article.
UPDATE: I am on the board of the Adelle Davis Foundation, I would like to update the photo you are using to this: http://adelledavis.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Adelle-Davis-Milk.jpg if you have any questions please call the foundation and ask for Gabe
The image linked here is claimed to be used under fair use as:
- it is a historically significant photo of a famous individual;
- it is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality)
- the photo is only being used for informational purposes.
- Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because it shows the subject of this article. pfctdayelise 06:29, 13 January 2006 (UTC)
