Help:Talk

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Help:Talk is a mediawiki page that provides guidelines on how to use the talk page feature on Wikipedia. The talk page, also known as the discussion page, is a space where editors can communicate, discuss changes, ask questions, and provide feedback about an article.

Overview[edit | edit source]

The Help:Talk page is a resource for both new and experienced editors. It provides a comprehensive guide on how to use the talk page effectively. This includes how to start a new discussion, how to reply to comments, and how to format your comments for clarity and readability.

Starting a New Discussion[edit | edit source]

To start a new discussion on a talk page, click on the "New section" tab at the top of the page. This will open a new section where you can enter your subject and comment. When you're done, click "Publish changes" to post your comment.

Replying to Comments[edit | edit source]

To reply to a comment on a talk page, click on the "edit" link next to the section title. This will open the editing window where you can add your reply. Be sure to indent your comment by adding one more colon (:) than the comment you're replying to. This helps keep the discussion thread easy to follow.

Formatting Comments[edit | edit source]

When writing your comments, it's important to follow the Manual of Style. This includes signing your comments with four tildes (Prab (talk) 22:00, 25 February 2024 (UTC)), which automatically adds your username and the date. It's also recommended to use wikilinks to link to other Wikipedia articles, and to use proper grammar and spelling.
