Organization for Human Brain Mapping

The Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) is an international society dedicated to using neuroimaging to discover the organization of the human brain. It is primarily a scientific, educational and professional organization that holds an annual meeting that serves as a forum for the dissemination of the latest research in neuroimaging, a rapidly growing discipline that has evolved significantly over the past two decades.

History[edit | edit source]

The OHBM was established in 1995, following the success of a series of meetings that began in Paris in 1991. These meetings were initially focused on the use of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) in brain mapping, but quickly expanded to include other neuroimaging techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Electroencephalography (EEG).

Mission[edit | edit source]

The mission of the OHBM is to advance the understanding of the anatomical and functional organization of the human brain using neuroimaging. This includes the development of new techniques for neuroimaging, the dissemination of research findings to the public, and the promotion of communication and collaboration among researchers in the field.

Annual Meeting[edit | edit source]

The OHBM holds an annual meeting that serves as a forum for the presentation of the latest research in neuroimaging. The meeting includes keynote lectures, symposia, workshops, and poster sessions, and attracts researchers from around the world.

Membership[edit | edit source]

Membership in the OHBM is open to individuals who are interested in the study of the human brain and who are actively engaged in research in this or related fields.
