Hasselt University (Dutch: Universiteit Hasselt, UHasselt) is a public research university located in Hasselt, Belgium. Established in 1971, it is known for its innovative approach to education and research, focusing on interdisciplinary collaboration and community engagement.

Hasselt University was originally founded as the Limburg University Centre (LUC) in 1971. It was established to provide higher education opportunities in the Limburg region of Belgium. In 2005, the institution was granted university status and adopted its current name, Hasselt University.
