The Canary Islands are an archipelago and autonomous community of Spain, located in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Africa. The archipelago consists of seven main islands and several smaller ones.

The Canary Islands are located in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 100 kilometers west of Morocco. The archipelago consists of seven main islands: Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro. Each island has its unique geography and climate, ranging from desert-like landscapes in the east to lush forests in the west.

The Canary Islands were originally inhabited by the Guanches, an indigenous people of Berber origin. The islands were discovered and colonized by the Kingdom of Castile in the 15th century, and have been part of Spain since then.
