Chloramine-T is a chemical compound with the formula C7H7NO2SNa·3H2O. It is commonly used as a disinfectant, antiseptic, and bleach, particularly in medical and veterinary applications. The compound is a member of the chloramines, which are derivatives of ammonia by substitution of one, two, or all three hydrogen atoms with chlorine atoms. Chloramine-T specifically is the N-chloro derivative of tosylamide, where the N-chloro group is responsible for its disinfectant properties.
