American multinational pizza restaurant chain

Domino's Pizza, Inc. is an American multinational pizza restaurant chain founded in 1960. The corporation is headquartered at the Domino's Farms Office Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Domino's is the largest pizza seller worldwide in terms of sales.

History[edit | edit source]

Domino's was founded by Tom Monaghan and his brother, James, in 1960. The brothers purchased a small pizza store called DomiNick's in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In 1965, Tom Monaghan became the sole owner of the business and renamed it Domino's Pizza, Inc. The company expanded rapidly, opening its first franchise location in 1967 and its 200th store in 1978.

Products[edit | edit source]

Domino's menu features a variety of pizzas, including traditional, specialty, and custom pizzas with a wide range of toppings. The company also offers pasta, chicken wings, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Domino's is known for its innovative delivery methods, including the use of electric bicycles and autonomous vehicles.

Marketing[edit | edit source]

Domino's has employed various marketing strategies over the years, including the "30 minutes or less" delivery guarantee, which was discontinued in 1993 due to safety concerns. The company has also launched several successful advertising campaigns, such as the "Avoid the Noid" campaign in the 1980s.

Technology[edit | edit source]

Domino's has been a pioneer in the use of technology within the food delivery industry. The company introduced its online ordering system in 2007 and has since developed a mobile app, voice ordering through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, and a pizza tracker that allows customers to follow their order in real-time.

International Operations[edit | edit source]

Domino's operates in over 90 countries, with more than 17,000 stores worldwide. The company's international expansion began in 1983 with the opening of a store in Winnipeg, Canada. Today, Domino's has a significant presence in countries such as India, Australia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Corporate Social Responsibility[edit | edit source]

Domino's is involved in various corporate social responsibility initiatives, including efforts to reduce its environmental impact, support local communities, and promote ethical business practices. The company has implemented measures to reduce food waste, improve energy efficiency, and source ingredients responsibly.
