Edy's
Edy's is a popular brand of ice cream and frozen yogurt, originally established in the United States. It is known for its wide variety of flavors and high-quality ingredients.
History[edit | edit source]
Edy's was founded in 1928 by Joseph Edy and William Dreyer. The two entrepreneurs opened an ice cream shop in Oakland, California, where they combined their skills in candy-making and ice cream production to create a new line of innovative ice cream flavors. The brand quickly gained popularity and expanded throughout the United States.
Products[edit | edit source]
Edy's offers a range of products including ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet. The brand is particularly known for its Slow Churned line, which offers a lower-fat alternative to traditional ice cream. Edy's also produces a range of limited edition and seasonal flavors.
Branding[edit | edit source]
In some parts of the United States, Edy's products are sold under the Dreyer's brand name. This is due to a historical agreement between the founders and another ice cream company. Despite the different names, the products and recipes are identical.
Recognition[edit | edit source]
Edy's has received numerous awards for its products, including accolades from the National Ice Cream Retailers Association and the American Culinary Institute. The brand is also frequently featured in consumer publications as a top pick for ice cream and frozen desserts.
