- Femto-
Femto- is a unit prefix in the metric system denoting a factor of 10−15. It was added to the International System of Units (SI) in 1964. The prefix comes from the Danish word femten, meaning "fifteen".

Femto- is used in various scientific fields to denote extremely small measurements. Some common applications include:
- Femtosecond: A femtosecond is 10−15 of a second. It is used in ultrafast lasers and chemical reactions to measure extremely short time intervals.
- Femtometer: A femtometer, also known as a fermi, is 10−15 of a meter. It is used in nuclear physics to measure the size of atomic nuclei.
- Femtoampere: A femtoampere is 10−15 of an ampere. It is used in electronics to measure very small electric currents.
