Fordham University[edit | edit source]
Fordham University is a private Jesuit research university in New York City. Established in 1841, it is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit university in the northeastern United States. The university's main campus, Rose Hill, is located in The Bronx, while its Lincoln Center campus is situated in Manhattan. The university also has a campus in West Harrison, New York known as the Westchester campus.
History[edit | edit source]
Fordham was founded as St. John's College in 1841 by the Right Rev. John Hughes, the fourth bishop of New York. It was established as a diocesan institution and later became independently chartered. In 1907, the institution was renamed Fordham University. Throughout its history, Fordham has played an integral role in the cultural and academic fabric of New York City.

Fordham University offers more than 60 undergraduate majors, numerous graduate and professional degrees across its four colleges:
- Fordham College at Rose Hill
- Fordham College at Lincoln Center
- Gabelli School of Business
- Graduate School of Arts and Sciences
- Graduate School of Education
- Fordham University School of Law
- Graduate School of Social Service
Research at Fordham focuses on various disciplines with the university being home to several specialized research centers and institutes.

Fordham's campuses, with their Gothic architecture and proximity to New York City, offer students numerous cultural, research, and internship opportunities. The university boasts a vibrant student life with over 200 clubs and organizations.
Athletics[edit | edit source]
Fordham's athletic teams are known as the Rams and compete in the NCAA Division I. The university has a historic football program and its basketball teams play in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
