Oral sex

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

(Redirected from Give head)

Oral sex refers to sexual activities involving the stimulation of the genitalia by the use of the mouth, which may include the lips, tongue, teeth, and throat. It is a common form of sexual activity among sexually active adults. Oral sex can involve the oral stimulation of the penis (fellatio), the vagina (cunnilingus), or the anus (anilingus).

History[edit | edit source]

Oral sex has been practiced in various forms by people throughout history and is documented in ancient texts and through art history. From the ancient Indian Kama Sutra text to the erotic depictions of the Pompeii ruins, oral sex has been represented in various cultures and societies.

Health aspects[edit | edit source]

Oral sex, like all sexual activities, carries the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, the risk is generally lower than for most other forms of penetrative sex. Certain STIs, such as human papillomavirus (HPV), herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia can be transmitted through oral sex. Safe sex practices, such as using a condom or dental dam, can reduce the risk of STIs.

Legal and cultural views[edit | edit source]

The legal and cultural views on oral sex vary greatly between different cultures and jurisdictions. In some cultures, oral sex is considered taboo, while in others it is a common part of the sexual repertoire. In some jurisdictions, oral sex is illegal, particularly between same-sex couples.
