R. J. Reynolds Vapor Company

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

R. J. Reynolds Vapor Company is a subsidiary of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, which is itself a subsidiary of British American Tobacco. The company is known for manufacturing and marketing vaping products, most notably the VUSE brand of electronic cigarettes.

History[edit | edit source]

The R. J. Reynolds Vapor Company was established in 2012 as a division of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The company was created in response to the growing popularity of electronic cigarettes and vaping products, and to diversify the parent company's product offerings beyond traditional tobacco products.

Products[edit | edit source]

The company's flagship product is the VUSE electronic cigarette, which was launched in 2013. The VUSE is a vaporizer that uses pre-filled cartridges containing a liquid mixture of nicotine, propylene glycol, and flavorings. The device heats the liquid to create a vapor, which the user inhales.

In addition to the VUSE, the company also manufactures and markets a range of other vaping products, including e-liquids, vape pens, and vape mods.

Controversies[edit | edit source]

The R. J. Reynolds Vapor Company, like many companies in the vaping industry, has faced criticism and legal challenges related to the marketing and safety of its products. Critics argue that the company's marketing practices target young people and non-smokers, and that the safety of vaping products is not adequately regulated.
