<languages /><translate> A stress test, also called cardiac stress test (or exercise stress test) is a type of cardiac diagnostic test in which cardiovascular measurements such as heart rate, blood pressure, and electrical activity are recorded while the heart is being stressed (usually by having the person exercise on a treadmill or bicycle or sometimes using medicines).

A stress test measures the mechanical function of the heart's ability to pump blood during physical stress.

A stress test can help in the evaluation of many cardiac conditions including: ischemic heart disease, heart valve disease, or heart failure.

An exercise stress test involves physical exercise such as walking on a treadmill or riding a stationary bicycle.
