AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition) is a file-based format for the digital recording and playback of high-definition video. It was jointly developed by Sony and Panasonic and was first introduced in 2006. AVCHD is widely used in consumer camcorders and professional video cameras due to its high-quality video and efficient compression.
