Absolut Citron

Absolut Citron is a flavored vodka produced by Absolut Vodka, a subsidiary of the French group Pernod Ricard. It was introduced to the global market in 1988 as the second flavored vodka in the Absolut range, following Absolut Peppar.

History[edit | edit source]

Absolut Citron was launched in 1988, nine years after Absolut Vodka. The decision to create a lemon flavored vodka was influenced by the popularity of the cocktail industry and the demand for versatile flavors that could be used in a variety of mixed drinks. Absolut Citron both enhances a wide selection of drinks and works brilliantly on its own just by adding ice.

Production[edit | edit source]

Like all Absolut Vodka products, Absolut Citron is produced in Åhus, Sweden, using winter wheat and water from the company's own deep well. The lemon flavor is added during the distillation process, resulting in a vodka that is both aromatic and smooth.

Taste[edit | edit source]

Absolut Citron is characterized by a fresh, fruity lemon and lime character and a note of lemon peel. Its smooth and mellow taste, with a fruity lemon and lime character and a note of lemon peel, makes it a perfect base in many cocktails.

Cocktails[edit | edit source]

Absolut Citron plays a major role in the most iconic vodka-based cocktails, such as the Cosmopolitan, the Lemon Drop, and the Sea Breeze. It can also be enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
