Acadian Ambulance
Acadian Ambulance is an emergency medical services provider based in Louisiana, United States. It is one of the largest ambulance services in the nation, offering emergency and non-emergency transportation to a population of over 20 million residents in more than 70 counties and parishes.
History[edit | edit source]
Acadian Ambulance was founded in 1971 in response to a sudden withdrawal of ambulance service by funeral homes in the Lafayette area. The company started with just three ambulances and eight medics. Today, it has grown to include a fleet of more than 500 ambulances and a staff of over 4,000 employees.
Services[edit | edit source]
Acadian Ambulance provides a range of services including emergency medical services, air ambulance services, patient transport services, and medical monitoring services. The company also operates a National EMS Academy which provides education and training for future EMTs and paramedics.
Operations[edit | edit source]
Acadian Ambulance operates in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. The company's operations are divided into several divisions, each responsible for providing services in a specific geographical area. Each division has its own management team and operates independently, but all divisions share the same mission and values.
Recognition[edit | edit source]
Acadian Ambulance has received numerous awards and recognitions for its services. In 2017, it was recognized as the American Ambulance Association's "Best of the Best" and received the association's AMBY Award for Best Clinical Outcome.
