Al Lary was an American professional baseball player who played as a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on September 26, 1928, in Northport, Alabama, and passed away on July 9, 2001, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Lary played for the Chicago Cubs during his brief MLB career.

Alfred Allen Lary, known as Al Lary, grew up in Northport, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama, where he played college baseball for the Alabama Crimson Tide. His performance in college baseball caught the attention of professional scouts.

Al Lary began his professional baseball career in the minor leagues. He played for several minor league teams, honing his skills as a pitcher. His time in the minors helped him develop the abilities that would eventually lead to his promotion to the major leagues.
