Alger County, Michigan[edit | edit source]

Alger County is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,601. Its county seat is Munising. The county was created by the Michigan Legislature in 1885 from the western part of Schoolcraft County. It was named for Russell A. Alger, the 20th Governor of Michigan and U.S. Senator from Michigan.
