Altitude diving

Altitude diving is a type of scuba diving that is conducted at altitudes above 300 meters (1,000 feet) above sea level. It requires special procedures and equipment due to the different physical conditions at these heights.

Altitude diving is different from sea level diving due to the reduced atmospheric pressure at altitude. This affects the decompression sickness risk, which is higher in altitude diving. The reduced pressure affects the amount of gas dissolved in a diver's body, which can lead to decompression sickness if not managed correctly.

The procedures for altitude diving are different from those for sea level diving. Divers must use special dive tables or dive computers that are calibrated for the altitude. These tables take into account the reduced atmospheric pressure and adjust the no-decompression limits and surface intervals accordingly.
