Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Jayne Milano (born December 19, 1972) is an American actress, producer, and political activist. She is best known for her roles in the television series Who's the Boss?, Melrose Place, Charmed, and Mistresses.

Alyssa Milano was born in Brooklyn, New York City, to fashion designer Lin Milano and film music editor Thomas M. Milano. She has a younger brother named Cory. Milano was raised in a Roman Catholic family.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

Milano began her career at the age of seven when her babysitter took her to an audition for a national touring company of Annie. She won a role and spent 18 months on the road with the production. Following this, she appeared in several television commercials and off-Broadway productions.

Breakthrough Role[edit | edit source]

Milano's breakthrough role came in 1984 when she was cast as Samantha Micelli in the hit sitcom Who's the Boss?. The show ran for eight seasons and made Milano a household name.

1990s and 2000s[edit | edit source]

In the 1990s, Milano starred in the primetime soap opera Melrose Place and the supernatural drama series Charmed. On Charmed, she played Phoebe Halliwell, one of three sisters who are witches. The show was a significant success and ran for eight seasons.

Recent Work[edit | edit source]

In the 2010s, Milano starred in the drama series Mistresses and had a recurring role in My Name Is Earl. She has also appeared in several films, including Commando, Fear, and Hugo Pool.

Milano is an outspoken political activist. She has been involved in various causes, including #MeToo, gun control, and reproductive rights. She has also served as a UNICEF National Ambassador.

Milano has been married twice. She married singer Cinjun Tate in 1999, but the couple divorced later that year. In 2009, she married agent David Bugliari. They have two children together.
