Andrea iannone

Andrea Iannone (born August 9, 1989) is an Italian professional motorcycle racer. He has competed in the MotoGP World Championship, and in 2016, he secured his first MotoGP victory in the Austrian Grand Prix.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Iannone was born in Vasto, Abruzzo, Italy. He began his racing career in the Italian Minimoto Championship, before moving up to the Italian and European 125cc Championships.

Career[edit | edit source]

125cc and 250cc[edit | edit source]

Iannone made his debut in the 125cc World Championship in 2005. He achieved his first podium in 2008 at the Chinese Grand Prix, and his first victory later that year at the Grand Prix of China.

In 2009, Iannone moved up to the 250cc class, where he raced for the Ongetta Team I.S.P.A. He achieved two podium finishes in his debut season.

Moto2[edit | edit source]

Iannone moved to the newly formed Moto2 class in 2010. He achieved his first victory in this class at the FIM Grand Prix of Italy.

MotoGP[edit | edit source]

Iannone moved up to the premier class, MotoGP, in 2013. He raced for the Ducati Team from 2013 to 2016, achieving his first victory in 2016 at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Iannone is known for his aggressive riding style and his nickname "The Maniac". He is also known for his distinctive helmet designs.
