Andrei Mikalayevich Aramnau (Belarusian: Андрэй Мікалаевіч Арамнаў; born April 17, 1988) is a Belarusian weightlifter. He is best known for his achievements in the 2008 Summer Olympics and various World Weightlifting Championships.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Andrei Aramnau was born in Barysaw, a city in the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic, which was part of the Soviet Union at the time. He began weightlifting at a young age and quickly showed promise in the sport.

Career[edit | edit source]

Aramnau's career took off when he competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing, China. He competed in the 105 kg weightlifting category and won the gold medal, setting three world records in the process. His performance in Beijing made him a national hero in Belarus and a prominent figure in the world of weightlifting.
