Anecito T. Pesante Sr. Memorial Hospital
Anecito T. Pesante Sr. Memorial Hospital, Co. (abbreviated as APSMHC or simply Pesante Hospital) is a 98-bed capacity tertiary PhilHealth accredited private hospital located in Midsayap, Cotabato, Philippines. It serves the health needs of the people in the PPALMA area.
Background[edit | edit source]
Anecito Trestiza Pesante, Sr., lived with his family in the town of Midsayap, Cotabato. They ran a family-owned store and managed a farm. The family had strong ties with the rural community, which relied on farming for livelihood. Despite financial challenges, Anecito emphasized the importance of education and sent his children to private schools.
In 1985, Evelyn Pesante, the second child, completed medical school and opened a small clinic in their house. Due to high demand and an increasing number of patients, the clinic was moved to a larger location in the public market area. It was named Holy Family Medical Clinic and primarily offered consultations. Mr. Pesante Sr. managed the records and accounting section of the clinic. The clinic had initially five beds, later upgraded to eight for admitted patients.
Dr. Evelyn Pesante worked hard to support her siblings' education. Unfortunately, Mr. Pesante Sr. passed away in 1989 due to cancer. In 1995, a fire in the public market site affected the clinic's operation. That same year, Ramon Pesante, the third child, completed medical school and specialized in surgery at Cotabato Regional and Medical Center. Dr. Evelyn Pesante and Dr. Ramon Pesante collaborated to improve the clinic's services.
On May 8, 2008, the Pesante family established the Anecito T. Pesante Sr. Memorial Hospital. It started with a 25-bed capacity and gradually expanded to its current 98-bed capacity. The hospital provides general healthcare services and is equipped with an emergency department. It is accredited by PhilHealth and serves as a vital healthcare facility in the region.
