Angus Monfries is a former professional Australian rules football player who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Born on January 19, 1987, in Adelaide, South Australia, Monfries is best known for his time at the Port Adelaide Football Club and the Essendon Football Club.

Angus Monfries grew up in Adelaide and attended Rostrevor College, where his talent for Australian rules football became evident. His performances at the school and club level led to his selection in South Australia's team for the national under-18 championships.

Monfries was drafted by the Essendon Football Club with the 14th overall pick in the 2004 AFL Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2005 and quickly established himself as a versatile forward.
