Ankara Province

Ankara Province is a province of Turkey. Its capital city is Ankara, which is also the capital of Turkey. The province is divided into 25 districts. The province covers an area of 25,706 square kilometers and as of 2020, its population is approximately 5.6 million.

Ankara Province is located in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. It is bordered by the provinces of Eskişehir to the west, Konya to the south, Aksaray to the southeast, Kırıkkale to the northeast, and Bolu to the north. The province is characterized by a steppe landscape, with large areas of flat and undulating land.

The history of Ankara Province dates back to the Hittite Empire, with the city of Ankara being an important center during this period. The province has also been part of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, and the Ottoman Empire. The city of Ankara became the capital of Turkey in 1923, following the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.
