Anthony David Edwards
Anthony David Edwards (born July 19, 1962) is an American actor and director. He is best known for his role as Dr. Mark Greene on the long-running television series ER, for which he received a Golden Globe Award and six Screen Actors Guild Awards, and was nominated for four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards. Edwards has also appeared in various movies, including Top Gun (1986), where he played the role of Lt. Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, a Naval Aviator.

Anthony David Edwards was born in Santa Barbara, California, to Erika Kem (née Weber), an artist/landscape painter, and Peter Edwards, an architect. He is the youngest of five children. Edwards showed an early interest in acting, participating in school plays and local theater productions from a young age.

Edwards began his acting career in the 1980s with minor roles in various television shows and films. His breakout role came in 1986 when he starred in Top Gun, a film that became a cultural phenomenon and solidified his place in Hollywood. Following the success of Top Gun, Edwards continued to appear in a variety of film roles, but it was his portrayal of Dr. Mark Greene on the medical drama ER that would become his most iconic role. From 1994 to 2002, Edwards was a central figure on the show, earning critical acclaim for his performance.
