Anxiety UK

Anxiety UK is a national registered charity formed in 1970 by someone living with agoraphobia for those affected by anxiety disorders. Today it is a user-led organisation, run by people with experience of living with anxiety, stress, and anxiety-based depression, supported by a high-profile medical advisory panel.

Anxiety UK was initially established as the Phobic Society in 1970 by Katharine and Harold Fisher. The organisation was later renamed to Anxiety UK with the aim of supporting those living with anxiety disorders.

Anxiety UK offers a range of services to people living with anxiety disorders, including access to reduced cost, flexible therapeutic services. They also provide information and advice to those affected by, or interested in learning about anxiety, stress, and anxiety-based depression.

Anxiety UK offers a range of therapy services to its members, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), counselling, clinical hypnotherapy, and acupuncture. These services are provided by Anxiety UK's network of Anxiety UK Approved Therapists.

Helpline Services[edit | edit source]

Anxiety UK operates a helpline service for those seeking immediate support for their anxiety. This service is staffed by volunteers with personal experience of anxiety.

Membership[edit | edit source]

Membership to Anxiety UK is open to anyone and includes a range of benefits such as access to reduced cost therapy, free copies of Anxious Times magazine, and access to the members area of the website.
