Apac General Hospital

Apac General Hospital is a public hospital located in Apac, a town in the Northern Region of Uganda. The hospital is administered by the Uganda Ministry of Health and serves as a referral medical facility for the districts of Apac, Kole, and Oyam.

Apac General Hospital was established in the early 20th century during the British colonial rule in Uganda. It was initially a small health center, but over the years, it has grown into a fully-fledged hospital offering a wide range of medical services.

Services[edit | edit source]

The hospital provides a variety of medical services including general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, and radiology. It also offers HIV/AIDS testing and treatment, Malaria prevention and treatment, and maternal health services.

Infrastructure[edit | edit source]

Apac General Hospital is equipped with modern medical equipment and infrastructure. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), operating theaters, laboratories, and radiology department. It also has a pharmacy that provides essential medicines to the patients.

Challenges[edit | edit source]

Despite its significant role in providing healthcare services in the region, Apac General Hospital faces several challenges. These include inadequate funding, shortage of medical personnel, and high patient load.
