Aristogenes (physician)

Aristogenes was an ancient Greek physician, who lived in the 4th century BC. He was a native of Thasos, and a pupil of Herodicus, who was himself a pupil of Hippocrates. Aristogenes is mentioned by Galen as one of the physicians who had written on the pulse.

Aristogenes was born in Thasos, an island in the northern Aegean Sea. He was a student of Herodicus, a well-known physician of his time who was also a teacher of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. Aristogenes' exact birth and death dates are unknown, but he is believed to have lived during the 4th century BC.
