Arthur Zwane

Arthur Zwane (born 20 February 1974) is a former South African professional footballer who played as a winger. He is best known for his long tenure at Kaizer Chiefs, one of South Africa's most prominent football clubs. Following his retirement from playing, Zwane transitioned into coaching and currently serves as an assistant manager at Kaizer Chiefs.
Early Life and Career[edit | edit source]
Born in Soweto, a township of Johannesburg, Zwane began his football career with local clubs before making a professional debut with Jomo Cosmos in 1995. After a brief stint, he moved to Kaizer Chiefs in 1996, where he would remain for the bulk of his playing career.
Playing Career[edit | edit source]
During his time at Kaizer Chiefs, Zwane became a key player, known for his speed and skill on the wings. He helped the team to numerous domestic titles, including the Premier Soccer League, Nedbank Cup, and MTN 8. His performances earned him a place in the South Africa national football team, where he was capped multiple times between 1997 and 2005.
Coaching Career[edit | edit source]
After retiring from professional play in 2010, Zwane began focusing on coaching. He returned to Kaizer Chiefs in a coaching capacity and has been involved with various youth and reserve teams. In 2020, he was appointed as an assistant manager of the first team, where he continues to contribute to the club's development and success.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Zwane is regarded as one of the influential figures in South African football, both as a player and a coach. His dedication to Kaizer Chiefs over the years has made him a beloved figure among the club's fans.
