Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods
Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods is a 2014 French 3D computer-animated adventure family comedy film based on the comic book series Asterix created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. The film is directed by Louis Clichy and co-written by Alexandre Astier. It is the first Asterix film animated in 3D and the ninth animated feature based on the series.
Plot[edit | edit source]
The story follows the indomitable Gauls of a small village in Armorica who resist the Roman occupation. Julius Caesar, frustrated by his inability to conquer the village, devises a new plan. He decides to build a luxurious residential complex, "The Mansions of the Gods," near the village to attract Roman settlers and assimilate the Gauls into Roman culture.
Asterix and Obelix discover the construction and decide to sabotage the project. They use various tactics to disrupt the work, including convincing the local wildlife to reclaim the land and causing chaos among the Roman workers. Despite their efforts, the first mansion is completed, and Roman citizens begin to move in.
The Gauls initially resist the changes, but some villagers are tempted by the luxuries offered by the Romans. Tensions rise as the village becomes divided. However, Asterix and Obelix manage to unite the villagers and launch a final assault on the Mansions of the Gods, ultimately driving the Romans away and restoring peace to their village.
