Atchison County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,685. Its county seat is Rock Port. The county was officially organized on February 14, 1845, and is named in honor of U.S. Senator David Rice Atchison from Missouri.
