Bairavaa
Bairavaa is a 2017 Indian Tamil language action film written and directed by Bharathan. Produced by B. Bharathi Reddy under the banner of Vijaya Productions, the film stars Vijay in the title role, while Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Thambi Ramaiah, and Sathish play supporting roles. The film's music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by M. Sukumar and editing by Praveen K.L. Bairavaa was released on 12 January 2017, coinciding with the Pongal festival.

The film follows the story of Bairavaa, a collection agent for a bank, who takes on a corrupt businessman and his henchmen to fight for justice and protect the education rights of medical students. The narrative unfolds as Bairavaa falls in love with Malarvizhi, a medical student, who is in a dire situation because of the corrupt practices of a private medical college chairman, PK. As Bairavaa delves deeper, he uncovers various illegal activities and takes it upon himself to fight against the injustice, leading to action-packed confrontations.

Production[edit | edit source]
The production of Bairavaa began in early 2016, with director Bharathan announcing his second collaboration with Vijay after their previous film, Azhagiya Tamil Magan. The film was shot across various locations in India, including Chennai, Hyderabad, and Rajasthan, with a significant portion of the film also shot in Nepal. The production phase was marked by high expectations due to the successful pairing of Vijay and Bharathan, and the inclusion of a strong supporting cast.
