Barfi! is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Anurag Basu. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as the titular character, a mute and deaf young man named Murphy "Barfi" Johnson, who is always cheerful and full of life. Priyanka Chopra plays Jhilmil Chatterjee, an autistic girl, and Ileana D'Cruz portrays Shruti Ghosh, Barfi's love interest.

The film is set in the 1970s and follows the story of Barfi, a charming young man who is deaf and mute. Despite his disabilities, Barfi is known for his cheerful demeanor and mischievous antics. He falls in love with Shruti, a beautiful young woman who is engaged to another man. However, Shruti is unable to resist Barfi's charm and finds herself drawn to him.
The narrative takes a turn when Barfi's childhood friend, Jhilmil, who is autistic, goes missing. Barfi sets out on a journey to find her, leading to a series of adventures and misadventures. The film explores themes of love, friendship, and the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

The film was produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Anurag Basu, who also wrote the screenplay. The music for the film was composed by Pritam, with lyrics by Swanand Kirkire. The cinematography was handled by Ravi Varman, and the film was edited by Akiv Ali.
