Beaver County is a county located in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 census, the population was 6,629. Its county seat and largest city is Beaver. The county was named for the abundance of beavers in the area.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Beaver County is located in the southwestern part of Utah with a total area of 2,592 square miles. It is bordered by Lincoln County and Clark County in Nevada to the west, Iron County to the south, Garfield County and Piute County to the east, and Millard County and Sevier County to the north.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of the 2010 census, there were 6,629 people, 2,265 households, and 1,697 families residing in the county. The population density was 2.6 inhabitants per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 89.0% white, 1.1% American Indian, 1.0% Asian, 0.3% black or African American, 0.2% Pacific islander, 6.9% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Those of Hispanic or Latino origin made up 10.8% of the population.
