Belo horizonte
Belo Horizonte is the capital city of the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Located in the southern part of the country, it is the third-largest metropolitan area in Brazil.

Belo Horizonte was founded on December 12, 1897, and it was the first planned modern city in Brazil. The city was designed by the Brazilian engineer Aarão Reis in a regular grid pattern inspired by the urban planning ideas of the City Beautiful movement.
