Beloit is a city located in Rock County, Wisconsin, United States. It is situated on the southern Wisconsin state line and is often referred to as the "Gateway to Wisconsin." With a population of 36,966 as of 2020, Beloit is the third-largest city in Rock County.

Beloit was first settled in 1836 by settlers from New England. The city was named after the French word beloit, which means "beautiful place."
